If I gave the impression that the Scissor-tailed Flycatcher was a Kansas bird, it was intentional. But it was just to make a point. In fact it shows up in several states.Texans think it’s theirs.

Oklahoma has officially named it their state bird. Pretty darned proud of themselves for it too.
